How to Enable the Wireless Radio on the HP Pavilion DV6 Series Notebook
When HP notebook computers are shipped from the manufacturer, the wireless adapter is sometimes turned off by default. To allow the wireless network adapter to function, you will need to turn on the adapter when setting up the PC for the first time.
- On the keyboard are the two keys used to enable or disable the wireless radio, and other wireless objects: the FN key and the F12 key.
- Press and hold the FN key and press the F12 key will bring up an icon in the system tray.
- Red indicates the device is off.
Green indicates the device is on.
- There is a third display for the icon which means that the wireless is disconnected.
