PowerSpec B605 FAQs

Q: What is the maximum supported memory (RAM)?

A: The PowerSpec B605 supports up to 2GB of DDR2 533 or DDR2 400 system memory installable in two 1GB modules.

Q: Does the PowerSpec B605 support a video card upgrade?

A: Yes, there is a PCI slot for video card upgrades. Consult the video card documentation for power and other system requirements. The PowerSpec B605 is equipped with a 300watt power supply.

Q: Where is the Microsoft Office product key?

A: To obtain the Microsoft Office product key, activate the trial by clicking the 60-day trial icon located on the desktop, or Activation Assistant icon in the Microsoft Office folder found in the Start Menu.

Q: What recovery options are available?

A: For Windows XP, a Create-Your-Own recovery DVD and a recovery partition are available. For Windows Vista, a Recovery DVD is included. Instructions for using these items are available in the Quick Start Guide. Should the recovery partition or media fail, the store service department can recover the system to original factory settings.

Q: What kind of Anti-virus or Anti-Spyware protection is included?

A: The PowerSpec B605 comes with a 90-day trial of the ESET NOD32 anti-virus program. To obtain the username and password for this trial go to www.eset.com/MicroCenter and complete the registration form.

Q: Are any of the pre-installed applications removable?

A: Yes, any software is removable by accessing the Add Remove Programs control in Windows XP, or Programs and Features control in Windows Vista.

Q: Is there a dial-up/fax modem?

A: The PowerSpec B605 does not come with a modem. Install an internal or external modem to connect to the internet via dial-up connection

Q: Does the PowerSpec B605 support multi-monitor?

A: In order to use more than one monitor, the PowerSpec B605 requires the installation of a video card. The on-board video does not provide a secondary output.
